Tickets are now on sale at wollmanrinknyc.com for the skating season
Iconic ice skating rink will include discounted pricing at the box office to ensure accessibility for all New Yorkers
Rink is undergoing a significant revitalization, addressing long-deferred maintenance and upgrading the surrounding infrastructure
NEW YORK (November 8, 2021) – Wollman Rink NYC today launched its Wollman Rink Access Program (WRAP) and online ticket sales for the upcoming ice skating season. Renovations and construction are currently underway to transform the rink into a best-in-class public space ahead of the rink’s grand reopening on November 14. Tickets are now available for purchase via the rink’s website at wollmanrinknyc.com.
As the new operator of Wollman Rink NYC, Wollman Park Partners (WPP) is committed to providing equitable opportunities and access for all visitors to enjoy the space. In addition to the standard pricing rate, Wollman Park Partners is offering discounted pricing to increase accessibility to the rink through WRAP. This program is designed to help provide access for New Yorkers who have not historically been able to afford to visit the rink.
Thousands of New Yorkers will benefit each year from WRAP tickets through program partners – each month WRAP tickets will be distributed at the box office, on a first come, first served basis, in conjunction with IDNYC, New York Public Library (NYPL), and community partners Figure Skating in Harlem, Ice Hockey in Harlem, Green City Force, The Boys’ Club of New York and the YMCA of Greater New York. WRAP tickets will cost $14 each and include admission, skate rental and a hot chocolate.
WPP is actively working to extend its current community partnerships and increase WRAP’s reach over the coming months.
“When Wollman Park Partners became the new operator of Wollman Rink NYC, we pledged to make this rink accessible to everyone. The Wollman Rink Access Program is a major step in the right direction to realizing this goal,” said Stefanie Tomlin, General Manager of Wollman Rink NYC. “We will continue working with our community partners and local organizations to design creative ways to ensure that Wollman Rink NYC is truly for everyone to enjoy.”
WPP is committed to transforming the rink into a best-in-class public space where people of all backgrounds and from all boroughs can feel welcome, a platform of opportunity and a symbol of New York City’s resilience. WPP is not seeking or accepting any of the profit from operating Wollman Rink NYC. Any net proceeds generated during the concession term will be reinvested in the facility, and through community partners providing services at Wollman Rink NYC.
